Information You Submit
A name, phone number, or address entered in a search box is sent to the third-party results provider. Our servers do not retain a copy of that search. When you contact us, we receive the details in your message and use them to respond.
Automatic Technical Data
Standard hosting logs may record an IP address, browser type, page views, and timestamps. Aggregate use helps maintain the service and identify useful pages. Basic analytics and advertising measurement may use cookies or related technology where applicable.
What We Do With This Data
We use limited data to operate the service, repair faults, measure traffic, and improve content. We neither sell lists of visitors nor create individual user profiles.
Links to Other Websites
We link out to county and state records portals, library collections, archives, and third-party search tools. Their privacy policies, not ours, govern what you submit there. That is especially true of the sponsored search results, which a third-party company provides.
Who Might See Your Data
The service providers that host and support the site process server logs for us. Analytics and advertising partners may receive the automatic data described above. We disclose data when a valid legal process requires it, and not otherwise.
How We Protect Your Data
The site runs over an encrypted connection and logs are kept only as long as the purposes above need them. There are no accounts here, so no password or profile of yours exists on this site to be exposed.
Users Under 18
The site is meant for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if you believe a minor has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your Privacy Choices
Some jurisdictions grant rights to review, correct, or delete personal data held by a website. The project research did not verify a comprehensive Illinois consumer deletion or universal opt-out statute, so no broader statutory right is promised here. We can check our contact mailbox and retained server logs for your data when you use the Contact page. Records held by Illinois, Cook County, or the Village of Wilmette remain under the custodian's control. Public-record requests follow the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140/1 et seq.; that law does not turn this private site into a records office.
Updates to This Policy
Any change to this policy will be posted on this page. Using the site after a change means you accept the updated version.
